[Art] Northside Art Fair

Hello everyone.  Hope you are enjoying our beautiful Cincinnati Spring.

First I must apologize for my lack of communication.  I have had the
opportunity to care for my father-in-law during his last few months of life
and definitely count it a privelege, but it has taken me some time to
recover my own life.  Now I am ready to begin planning for the Northside Art
Fair, and I hope that you are too.

The fair will take place on Saturday June 13 during the Pridefest.  We
changed the date for the past 2 years to see if it would draw attention of
it's own accord, and I still believe it can, but this year circumstances
being what they are, I find it a bit more likely that we will see more sales
during the festival.  The parade takes place on Sunday at 1 starting at
Burnet Woods and ending at Hoffner Park.  This would allow for a shorter
sale length as well as a later set up time.  It is not necessary for you to
participate on Sunday if you do not wish to do so.

We will return to our normal fee of 10% of sales going directly to support
the Northside Artist Group.  The extra $5 fee we asked for in winter was
simply to cover Maureen's energy cost for the day, and may be charged next
winter for the same purpose.  We currently have aminimal budget because the
city has reduced the amount of neighbor hood grants and our dollar amount is
yet to be determined.  We are currently opporating on a budget of $75.  This
will be enough for flyers only so i will need help making sure they get
posted all over town.  Starbucks and Panera as well as many independently
owned businesses are generally willing to post these for us.

I would also like to take this opportunity to let you know that I intend to
step down from organizing art shows.  I will continue until some one steps
up.  This job requires some organizational skills but is not too time
intensive if you keep things in perspective.  Having connections in the art
community would also be very helpful.  Collectors are a necessary aspect of
turning the art fair into a success for our local artists.
